Tomatillo-Salsa
A hearty Mexican salsa
| INGREDIENTS
1 | avocado |
8 | tomatillos (small green tomatoes, available in big supermarkets) |
| salt |
| cayenne pepper |
| lime juice |
1/2 | cup fresh cilantro, chopped |
| tortilla chips |
| PREPARATION
Peel the tomatillos out of the papery husk and cut them in pieces. Stone the avocado an cut it also in pieces. Season with salt, cayennepepper and a little bit of lime juice. Mix everything in the blender until it's smooth. Chop the cilantro and add it to the salsa. Mix it again with a fork. Serve the tomatillo salsa with tortilla chips as an aperitif. Goes best with: Mexican beer. Our special hint: Tomatillo salsa tastes also excellent with burritos or tacos. You can keep the tomatillo salsa for two days in the refrigerator.
